Rectangular rooms.

Most rooms are simple boxes. Two measurements is all you need.

Write it out simply. Use metres. We'll work out the rest.

Example — Rectangular room
Living room
Length (A): 4.2 m
Width (B): 3.5 mTotal area: 14.7 m²
(length × width)
Example — L-shaped room
Kitchen-diner
Section A: 4.4 m × 1.0 m = 4.4 m²
Section B: 2.8 m × 1.3 m = 3.6 m²Total area: 8.0 m²
(sum of both sections)
